Webmail is web based e-mail. Rather than use a 'local' application (application that resides on your own PC) such as Outlook, Outlook Express, or Windows Mail, Webmail uses your browser to display your messages and manage messages that are stored on your email server.
Pros:
You can use webmail anywhere. Unlike using a local application that is tied to a specific PC, Webmail exists on the server and shows the same message list and address book on any internet connected computer computer.
Webmail simple interface. Webmail is usually very easy to learn and use. Since there aren't many advance features included in most webmail applications, there isn't that much of a learning curve.
Cons:
Webmail simple interface. Webmail typically does not offer the rich feature set that dedicated applications like Outlook has.
